Turkish car electronics manufacturer Togg has announced a strategic partnership with Ava Labs to develop and build smart contract-based services aimed at improving autonomous mobility.

Togg’s collaboration with Ava Labs, the team behind the public blockchain chain Avalanche, was unveiled at CES 2022 in Las Vegas. According to Cointelegraph Turkey, the partnership aims to accelerate the implementation of the Togg Use-Case Mobility initiative, which combines various technologies and transport solutions to produce vehicles with greater functionality than traditional electric vehicles.

Togg has been exploring options for using blockchain and related technologies in electric vehicles for more than a year, according to the official statement. Through a partnership with Ava Labs, Togg intends to implement the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine communication (M2M) to expand and accelerate its EV capabilities.

Togg will implement smart contracts and blockchain technology to enable users to pick up a ordered scooter or taxi while charging their electric vehicles, and ensure seamless mobility. Gyurkan Karakas, CEO of Togg, said:

“Our partnership with Ava Labs is based on taking the Togg user experience to the next level, going beyond cars to enable partners, users and non-users of Togg in the mobile ecosystem to take advantage of the platform.”
In addition, the partnership with Ava Labs will allow Togg to store information on vehicle maintenance and spare parts on the Avalanche blockchain, which will form the backbone of a strong used car market.
