Tesla CEO Elon Musk has stepped up pressure on cryptocurrency markets by posting a new series of cryptocurrency-related tweets on Thursday.
Bitcoin lost around $ 2,000 within hours after Musk took Twitter again to post Bitcoin (BTC).
The bitcoin price reacted immediately, dropping from $ 38,700 to $ 37,500 per hour. Bitcoin continued to decline as Musk continued to tweet several cryptocurrencies in the stream, including another tweet regarding the resolution on the fall in cryptocurrency prices, as well as a post on Dogecoin (DOGE).
Bitcoin then fell to $ 36,400 and has dropped more than 6% in the last 24 hours. At the time of writing, BTC is trading at $ 36,322, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
The price action comes shortly after Bitcoin attempted a new $ 40,000 test yesterday, and some traders speculate that BTC may face a correction before continuing the uptrend.
