Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR), the GT racing team backed by Lamborghini’s motorsport division, has announced its partnership with Non-Fungible Token (NFT) platform Go2NFT to launch a program that certifies racing car parts.
In an announcement sent to Cointelegraph, former racing champion Vincenzo Sospiri of VSR stated that their team will create NFT certification for their race cars using Go2NFT and the Skey Network blockchain platform. This will allow them to monitor and ensure the quality of car parts. He explained that:
“This also carries a huge responsibility to ensure that we can securely authenticate and review every part of our racing fleet to monitor performance and ensure source.”
Apart from auto parts, VSR is also looking to expand the NFT certification program to official merchandise and its other products as well. According to the team, this will give fans peace of mind when buying branded merchandise.

Boris Egesmont, CEO of Go2NFT, stated that their team understands the challenges that brands face when it comes to protecting their intellectual property, and they believe that NFTs can provide a solution. Eggemont said:
“We believe that the NFT utility can help create more trust and transparency for brands and their fans. This project with VSR is just the beginning of many of these joint operations for brands beloved around the world.”
The world of racing and crypto-currency collided well in 2022. In February, the Formula 1 racing team Red Bull Racing registered a $150 million partnership with crypto exchange Bybit. In an interview with Cointelegraph, Bybit founder Ben Zhou said the partnership allowed her team to reach new people in the crypto space.
In March, Crypto.com partnered with the Formula 1 team of car manufacturer Aston Martin. With the deal, the brand’s F1 cars will feature interchange advertisements. Jefferson Slack, CEO of Aston Martin, noted that the move allows the automaker to better understand the coding space.
