The Rehabilitation Center noted an estimate that about 1% of cryptocurrency traders will develop an “extreme” addiction to crypto trading.
A luxury rehab center in Spain recently added services aimed at treating a relatively new type of addiction – crypto trading.
Called “The Balance,” it is a wellness center founded in Switzerland, with its main facility on the Spanish island of Mallorca, along with branches in London and Zurich.
Although it has long treated addictions such as alcohol, drugs and behavioral health, it recently began offering services aimed at combating addiction to crypto trading, according to a BBC report.
A Feb. 5 report revealed that a client of the bureau reached out to “milk the crypto” by pouring in $200,000 worth of trades each week.
Treatment includes a four-week stay that includes therapy, massage and yoga. The bill can exceed $75,000.
Elsewhere in the world, Castle Craig Hospital – an addiction rehab clinic in Scotland that has been treating high adrenaline crypto traders since 2018 – has had over 100 clients come in with “dangerous” cryptocurrency issues.
Asia Diamond Rehabilitation – a wellness center in Thailand operating from 2019 – has also added a service dedicated to cryptocurrency addiction rehabilitation and treatment.
The organization says it looks to rehabilitate traffickers using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and psychodynamic theory (PT) as part of its comprehensive, multi-step approach to helping them overcome their addiction.

The exhilarating highs and lows in the fast-paced, 24/7 cryptocurrency trading scene are believed to have led to a real demand for rehab centers to serve trading addicts.
An article by a family addiction expert estimates based on gambling disorder statistics that about 1% of cryptocurrency traders will develop a severe pathological addiction, while 10% will experience problems other than financial loss.
Symptoms of this addiction, according to the family addiction expert, include constantly checking online prices – especially in the middle of the night.
